As the year progresses I will post new websites and resources for your use at home. They may be things I find to use in the classroom, game websites or books I have found useful. Check back often for new things to check out with your first graders.
abcya.com ~ This is a website with different grade level number and letter games. It also has some miscellaneous games, such as calendar skills, shapes, etc. This website contains levels for K-5. Please check this out. It is a website we will use often in our class for computer stations.
teachertube.com ~ This website is a lot like YouTube, but geared more for teachers and learning. It has science, social studies and other subject videos. I will use this in the class to show some fun little learning videos based on what we are learning.
At Home Play with Young Students ~ This is a Pinterest Board, where I post different things I find that are fun and educational activities you can do at home with your students. I have done some with my daughter and she loves them.
Listen to Reading at Home - children love technology and being read too. Here is a site that lists sites where you can combine both. The site is teacher's blog. She uses the computers to do listening centers on. Please check it out and give me feedback. I am going to use a couple of them in the room, to give me a couple more listening centers in the room so more students are able to participate in the listening center each day.
